Florida Teachers Arrested for Child Abuse and Student Fights

A Miami-Dade teacher, Joel Insilo, was arrested on a charge of aggravated child abuse causing great bodily harm after he fractured a 12-year-old boy's arm while trying to stop the boy from play fighting with other students. The incident occurred at KIPP Miami Public Schools, where Insilo worked. The victim was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital, and Insilo was ordered to not have contact with the victim and to stay at least 20 feet away from the victim at all times. KIPP Miami Public Schools released a statement saying they are fully cooperating with authorities and supporting the student's family.
