GOP donor to stand trial for sex trafficking minors.

Republican donor Anton "Tony" Lazzaro faces trial on federal charges of sex trafficking minors. He is accused of plying five minors aged 15 and 16 with cash, liquor, and gifts in exchange for "commercial sex acts" in 2020. Lazzaro denies the allegations and claims he is being targeted for political reasons and because of his wealth. His co-defendant, Gisela Castro Medina, pleaded guilty to two counts last year and is cooperating with prosecutors. Lazzaro's indictment led to the downfall of Jennifer Carnahan as chair of the Republican Party of Minnesota.
