Indiana Sheriff's Deputy Fatally Attacked by Dog, Son Injured

A sheriff's deputy in Indianapolis died after being attacked by a dog in her home, which also bit and wounded her 8-year-old son. The attacking dog charged at a responding officer, who fatally shot the animal. The dog was not owned by the deputy, and animal control impounded the deceased dog, three additional dogs, and a cat from the home. The investigation is ongoing.
