Indicted Man Accused of Stealing Judy Garland's Ruby Slippers from Museum

A man named Terry Martin has been indicted by a grand jury on charges of stealing a pair of ruby red slippers worn by Judy Garland in "The Wizard of Oz" in 2005. The slippers were recovered by the FBI in a sting operation in 2018. The shoes were on loan to the Judy Garland Museum in Minnesota when they were stolen and are one of four remaining pairs of red slippers Garland wore during production. The slippers were insured for $1 million when they were stolen, but their current market value is about $3.5 million.
