Indictments reveal extent of druggings and robberies at NYC gay bars.

Two separate gangs in NYC have been preying on club-goers, both straight and gay, by drugging and robbing them via their phones. At least 43 incidents have been reported between September 2021 and December 2022, with 10 men identified as part of one gang and five in the other. The victims were robbed after passing out from being drugged, and the suspects used facial recognition technology to unlock victims’ phones and then drained their bank accounts. The gangs are believed to have been involved in at least 43 separate incidents, and sexual orientation is not believed to be part of their MO.
