Influencer Arrested for Barcode Scam Caught on Camera

A 22-year-old TikTok influencer, Marlena Velez, with nearly 300,000 followers, was arrested for using fake barcodes to steal items worth $500.32 from a Target store in Cape Coral, Florida. She filmed herself preparing for the theft and posted it on social media. The police identified her with the help of an anonymous tip and her TikTok videos, leading to her arrest and charge of petit theft. The investigation is ongoing.
