Joran van der Sloot Allegedly Assaulted in Peruvian Jail

Joran van der Sloot, who is serving a 28-year sentence for the murder of Stephany Flores in Lima, has reportedly been attacked in a Peruvian prison where he is awaiting extradition to the US for an extortion case related to the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Van der Sloot's lawyer said his client is now in a medical wing. The US charges stem from an alleged extortion attempt in which van der Sloot claimed he would reveal the whereabouts of Holloway’s body for $250,000.
