Kidnapped California Woman Rescued in Mexico, Returning to U.S.

A San Mateo woman who was kidnapped in Mexico last year has been found and is on her way back to the United States. Monica De Leon Barba was kidnapped while walking her dog in Tepatitlán, Jalisco, Mexico, and was held captive until her release on Friday. The FBI had shared video footage of her kidnapping in April, seeking public assistance. No arrests have been made in connection to the kidnapping. The FBI expressed relief and gratitude for the safe return of De Leon Barba and thanked law enforcement partners, the family, and the San Mateo community for their support.
