The Petitos' attorney stated that Laundrie's parents admitted that their son informed them Gabby was "gone," but did not admit any knowledge that she was dead. The lawsuit claims that the Laundries refused to answer questions and acted with indifference to the rights of Petito's family. Laundrie was later found dead by suicide, and the FBI concluded that he had murdered Gabby Petito.
