Lincoln Mother and Boyfriend Arrested for Toddler's Death and Child Abuse

A Lincoln mother, Brittany Cook, has been arrested for child abuse resulting in death after her 22-month-old child was found with severe injuries consistent with multiple incidents of abuse. Her boyfriend, Joshua Tackett, was arrested earlier this month on similar charges. Cook's story has changed multiple times, and court documents detail instances of her discovering injuries on her child but not seeking medical care. The child was removed from life support on March 17. Cook's other children have been taken into state custody.
