"Massachusetts Officer of the Year Arrested for Altercation at Disney World"

Massachusetts police detective Duane Danforth, who was named Officer of the Year in 2021, was arrested at Walt Disney World for allegedly shoving a deputy and threatening staff members while intoxicated and holding a child. He has been charged with battery, battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting an officer without violence. Danforth, who has been with the Brookline Police Department for 14 years, was off duty at the time of the incident and has been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
