EU labels confirm faster battery wear for Samsung's Galaxy Z8 foldables
The EU’s EPREL energy database reveals the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Z Fold 8, and Z Fold 8 Ultra are rated for 1,200 charging cycles before about 20% capacity loss, down from 2,000 cycles on the Z Flip 7/Z Fold 7. Silicon‑carbon batteries boost capacity but degrade faster, with the Z Flip 8 likely dropping to ~3,440mAh after 1,200 cycles and the Fold 8 Ultra and Fold 8 reducing to ~4,000mAh and ~3,840mAh respectively. Samsung notes this trade‑off and has increased pack sizes (notably in the Ultra) to offset it; the S26 line appears to share the same 1,200‑cycle figure. Overall, these foldables offer higher capacity but shorter longevity than their immediate predecessors.
