Michigan Woman Charged in Fatal Hit-and-Run of Teacher Changing Tire on I-94

A 25-year-old woman from Grosse Pointe Woods has been charged with killing a 23-year-old teacher who was changing a tire on the shoulder of I-94. Brooke Lynn Denise Charles drunkenly drove her car off the roadway and hit the teacher, Connor McMahon, who was later pronounced dead. Charles fled the scene but was later arrested by Harper Woods police. She has been charged with operating while intoxicated causing death, failure to stop at the scene of a crash resulting in death, and assaulting/resisting a police officer.
