Minnesota Tragedy: Victims Named in Hopkins-Daycare and Burnsville Deaths

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified Kristen Brown, 41, and her daughter Evie Brown, 7, as victims in the Hopkins in-home daycare tragedy, reportedly killed by Kristen’s husband, Nathan Brown, who then took his own life; 78-year-old Alice Brown, a close family relative, was found dead in Burnsville later the same day. Investigators say a screwdriver was used in the killings per a warrant, and six other children were unharmed inside the daycare. A letter indicated the daycare would close due to relationship issues with Nathan. Authorities are treating the Hopkins and Burnsville deaths as connected, while the community mourns and domestic-violence resources are made available for those in need.
