Mother Charged with Murder After 3-Year-Old Dies in Freezing Woods

A Georgia woman is facing charges of murder and child cruelty after spending the night in the woods with her two young children, ages 3 and 7, where temperatures dipped below freezing. The 3-year-old died due to exposure to the elements, while the 7-year-old was hospitalized. The mother, Uriha Ridge, allegedly consumed illicit drugs before and after entering the woods, and despite having a charged cell phone, did not call for help until the next morning. Ridge remains jailed without bond on multiple felony charges, including felony murder and possession of marijuana.
