Multiple Women Charged with Murder in Connection to Toddler Deaths

A 24-year-old mother from Hillsborough County, Florida, has been charged with murder after her 2-year-old son was found dead, strapped to a booster seat for over 15 hours. The mother admitted to punishing the toddler for acting out and screaming, and despite watching him take his last breath, she did not call 911. The child had suffered head trauma, wounds, and bruising, and the Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a homicide due to severe neglect. The mother is also facing charges of aggravated child abuse resulting in great bodily harm and child neglect. An organization called Champions for Children provides free education and services to families to prevent child abuse and neglect.
