Nigerian 'Sextortion' Ring Linked to Teen Suicide

Three Nigerian men have been indicted for their involvement in an "international sextortion ring" that led to the suicide of a Michigan teenager, Jordan DeMay, last March. The scammers posed as a teenage girl on Instagram and encouraged DeMay to send explicit photos of himself, which were later used to blackmail him for money. DeMay paid $300 to the scammers, but they continued to threaten him, leading to his suicide. The scammers targeted more than 100 victims, both minors and adults, and the investigation is still ongoing.
