North Carolina teen indicted over livestreamed San Diego mosque attack

A 17-year-old girl from North Carolina has been indicted for murder by aiding and abetting after prosecutors say she livestreamed the May attack on the Islamic Center of San Diego and published the gunmen’s manifesto. The two attackers, aged 17 and 18, killed three people and then died by suicide; a security guard and two worshippers were among the victims. Prosecutors say her actions helped advance the plan to maximize casualties, and under North Carolina law she can be held criminally responsible as if she had carried out the crime. Investigators noted racist and antisemitic writings and plans for further attacks.
