NYC Garage Worker Cleared of Murder Charges for Shooting Thief.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office will not prosecute Moussa Diarra, a parking garage attendant who shot an alleged thief in self-defense. Diarra was initially charged with attempted murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon. The charges against Diarra will be dismissed pending further investigation, while the charges against the alleged thief, Charles Rhodie, will remain. The decision to charge Diarra drew similarities to an incident last July where a bodega clerk was charged with murder after defending himself against an attacker.
