Police Respond to Multiple Hoax School Shooting Threats Across the US

Multiple police agencies responded to a false call of a shooting at Westhill High School in Onondaga County, New York. The call turned out to be a hoax, part of a series of similar calls that hit high schools across the state on Thursday. Police officers rushed to the scene and confirmed there was no active threat. All officers are trained to expect an active shooter until they can definitively rule there is no threat. The investigation is now being handled by the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.
