Pregnant shoplifter shot by Walgreens employee in alleged self-defense

A Walgreens team leader, Mitarius Boyd, allegedly shot a pregnant woman, Travonsha Ferguson, in the parking lot after accusing her of stealing and being sprayed with mace in self-defense. Wyatt Day, who was across the street, heard at least seven gunshots. Ferguson and her baby are in stable condition. Boyd has not been arrested, and the district attorney’s office will determine if charges should be filed. Walgreens released a statement saying they take the matter seriously and are cooperating with local authorities.
