Recent Shootings on Indy Highways Involve State Police and Road Rage Incidents

A man wanted as part of a Morristown investigation was shot by an Indiana State Trooper at a Speedway gas station on the city's east side. The suspect was known to be armed and had reportedly been making threats. A physical struggle ensued after the trooper attempted to detain the suspect, who then fled and gunfire broke out. Both the suspect and the trooper fired at one another during the shootout, with the suspect being transported in critical condition. No bystanders were injured, and a handgun believed to belong to the suspect was recovered from the scene.
