A Texas woman identified as "D.L." has been awarded a $1.2 billion settlement by a Texas jury in a lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend, Marques Jamal Jackson, for image-based sexual abuse. The lawsuit stated that Jackson accessed the victim's personal accounts and distributed intimate photos and videos of her online, in addition to engaging in other forms of harassment and financial abuse. The jury found Jackson guilty of inflicting psychological abuse, domestic violence, and sexual abuse. The settlement includes $200 million for past and future mental anguish and $1 billion in exemplary damages. The case highlights the issue of image-based sexual abuse and aims to raise awareness and deter others from engaging in such activities.
