Spokane arson arrest tied to largest regional wildfire

Spokane County authorities arrested 37-year-old Aaron Farinacci in connection with the Old Trails Fire, the largest of three regional wildfires that have destroyed hundreds of structures and forced about 67,000 evacuations. A witness placed Farinacci near the fire’s origin, and detectives linked the blaze to him; he’s held on a $1 million bond on a first-degree arson allegation. Farinacci has a prior manslaughter conviction in Arizona, but investigators say there’s no evidence tying him to the other two fires.
