Suspect in custody after Boston police officer shot multiple times during robbery in progress.

Boston Police have identified John Lazare, 23, of Brockton as the suspect who allegedly shot a Boston Police officer multiple times on Friday night. The officer was investigating an armed robbery when he noticed a man matching the description of the suspect. Lazare began to open fire on the officer and ran into a building. He was later found on a nearby rooftop and taken into custody. The officer is recovering with his family at Boston Medical Center. Lazare is facing a slew of charges including assault and battery with a firearm, armed robbery, and assault with a dangerous weapon.
