Suspect in Custody for Grant High Student's Fatal Shooting

A 17-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Grant Union High School student Billy Ray Scott, 18, in a North Highlands neighborhood. The victim was sitting inside a vehicle with two other people when a person approached and fired at least one shot through the passenger side of the vehicle, hitting Scott. He later died of his injuries at a local hospital. The suspect's identity and details on how they were identified have not been released by the Sacramento County Sheriff's office.
