The US Justice Department is calling for the swift extradition of Néstor Isidro Pérez Salas, a lead assassin for the Sinaloa Cartel, after his arrest in Mexico. Pérez Salas, also known as "Nini," was captured by the Mexican National Guard and is wanted in the US on charges of drug trafficking conspiracy, possession of weapons, and witness retaliation. The State Department had offered a reward of up to $3 million for information leading to his arrest. President Joe Biden praised Mexican security forces for the arrest and expressed gratitude to Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and the Mexican Army.
