Texas Man Drives for Miles with Dead Pedestrian in Car After Fatal Crash

A Texas man has been arrested after allegedly striking a pedestrian with his car, causing the victim's body to fly through the windshield and land in the passenger seat. The man then drove 38 miles to a Jack in the Box restaurant with the dead body still inside. Police discovered the body when responding to a welfare check call and detained the driver. The suspect claimed he thought he had hit an animal and failed to notify authorities. The victim's body was recovered, and the investigation has been handed over to the Dallas County Sheriff's Office. The suspect has a previous history of driving while intoxicated. He is currently in custody on a pending charge of intoxicated manslaughter.
