The Regretful Airman: A Shift in Intelligence Leaks.

Jack Teixeira, a member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard, has been charged with unauthorised removal and retention of classified and national defence information. Teixeira, who had a keen interest in the military and weapons, had recently become disillusioned with the US military and expressed regret about enlisting. He was a member of a Discord chat group where he leaked classified material, including explicit US assessments on the war in Ukraine. Despite his relatively low rank, Teixeira had access to classified information as a cyber-transport systems journeyman. Members of the Discord group described Teixeira as someone looking to show off rather than being motivated by a desire to inform the public about US military operations or to influence US policy.
