Tragic Death of Former Star Swimmer Linked to Accidental Fentanyl Poisoning

Former star swimmer Jamie Cail, 42, died of accidental fentanyl poisoning in the U.S. Virgin Islands, according to an autopsy report. Cail, who won a gold medal in swimming as a teenager, was found dead by her boyfriend in their home. Deaths from fentanyl overdoses have been increasing in the U.S., with over 100,000 deaths in 2021.
