Tragic Loss: Birmingham Firefighter Jordan Melton Fatally Shot

A firefighter in Birmingham, Alabama, has died five days after being shot in what police are investigating as a targeted attack on a fire station. Jordan Melton, who had recently graduated from the Birmingham Fire and Rescue Recruit Academy, passed away, while another firefighter, Jamal Jones, remains in serious condition. The shooter entered Fire Station #9 through an open bay door while the firefighters were conducting routine equipment checks. The investigation is ongoing, and the reward for information leading to an arrest has been increased to $15,000.
