Utah Author Accused of Murdering Husband Had $2 Million Life Insurance Policies on Him

Utah woman Kouri Richins, accused of poisoning her husband and authoring a children's book about grief, allegedly purchased four life insurance policies on his life totaling $2 million years before the alleged murder. She also took out a $250,000 home equity line of credit, stole about $134,000 from her husband’s business, withdrew $100,000 from his bank accounts, and spent more than $30,000 with his credit cards. Richins has been charged with first-degree aggravated murder and multiple counts of second-degree possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
