Weekend Violence Erupts in San Francisco Nightlife District

San Francisco police are investigating two separate shootings that occurred early Saturday. The first incident involved a shooter striking several vehicles on the 400 block of Ellis Street in the Tenderloin. In the second incident, a 23-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries during a large fight in front of the Grand Nightclub in the South of Market neighborhood. Three other people were pistol-whipped, and two suspects were arrested and booked on felony charges. Investigations are ongoing.
