White Florida woman charged with manslaughter in shooting of Black neighbor, not murder.

A white woman in Florida has been charged with manslaughter and assault after fatally shooting a Black mother in front of her 9-year-old son. The accused, Susan Lorincz, claimed she had problems with being disrespected by children in the neighborhood, including the victim's children. Lorincz fired a single round from her .380-caliber handgun through her closed door, which fatally struck Ajike Owens. The state attorney's office contemplated filing a second-degree murder charge but concluded there was insufficient evidence of hatred, spite, ill will, or evil intent. If convicted, Lorincz faces up to 30 years in prison.
