Wife of Worcester cop found dead in suspected murder-suicide after disappearance

Karen Solomon, a Massachusetts mental health advocate and wife of Worcester police officer Kurt Solomon, was found dead six days after she disappeared, in what authorities say appears to be a murder-suicide following her husband’s death at their home. Investigators had named her a suspect, released doorbell footage, and recovered a handgun near her body (not a Worcester service weapon) as part of the probe, while an arrest warrant for assault with a dangerous weapon had previously been issued. Kurt Solomon, a 31-year veteran of the Worcester Police Department, died from a sharp-object injury; a wake and funeral were planned as a broad, multi-agency search continued.
