National Mall Gets a 16-Day Great American State Fair

A 16-day Great American State Fair will transform the National Mall from the Capitol to the Washington Monument (June 25–July 10) with food, exhibits, and interactive displays, plus large-scale installations like a 110-foot Ferris wheel and a refurbished Smithsonian carousel. The event features rotating themes such as Military Appreciation Day and The Next 250 to honor the U.S.'s upcoming semiquincentennial; admission is free with advance registration encouraged, and hours run 10 a.m.–9 p.m. Sun–Wed, 10 a.m.–11 p.m. Thu–Sat, and until midnight on July 4.
