Shot Virginia Teacher Shares Recovery Struggles in NBC Interview

Abigail Zwerner, a first-grade teacher from Virginia who was shot by a 6-year-old student in January, has spoken for the first time about her recovery. Zwerner said that some days she can't get out of bed, but she tries to stay positive. The city prosecutor in Newport News, Virginia, has said that he will not be pressing charges against the child. Zwerner's attorney, Diane Toscano, has said that she intends to file a lawsuit on behalf of her client, citing failures on multiple levels in the case. Three teachers had gone to school authorities on Jan. 6 with concerns around the student's behavior.
