Virginia Teacher Recounts Shooting by 6-Year-Old Student

Abigail Zwerner, the Virginia teacher who was shot by a 6-year-old student in her classroom in January, said in an interview that she would “never forget the look on his face that he gave me while he pointed the gun directly at me.” The boy had retrieved the weapon, which his mother had legally purchased, from his home, put it in his backpack and took it to school. The child will not be charged, but the Commonwealth attorney is still deciding whether others will face criminal charges. A lawsuit against the school district is planned to be filed in two weeks.
