California's Drought Conditions Improve Significantly After Winter Storms.

The U.S. Drought Monitor has released a map showing that California's drought coverage has dropped to 36%, the lowest since April 2020, due to an unusually wet winter that has built up a massive snowpack and replenished reservoirs. However, state officials have yet to declare the drought completely over, as groundwater basins are much slower to recover and many rural areas are still experiencing water supply challenges. The remaining parts of the state that still show some drought are a result of "lingering impacts" from the long-term drought that started in 2019.
