Schools and Programs Across Northeastern US Impacted by Poor Air Quality and Wildfires

Several school districts in New Jersey, including Clifton, South Orange, Maplewood, Freehold, and West Orange, have cancelled outdoor activities due to poor air quality caused by wildfires in Canada and New Jersey. The state has advised people to limit strenuous outdoor activities and use N95 masks. An air quality alert remains in place for all of New Jersey, and the Department of Environmental Protection has declared an air quality action day for several counties. People with lung and heart conditions, asthma, and the elderly are advised to limit outdoor activities.
