Wildfires and Poor Air Quality Plague Northeastern US

Air quality alerts have been issued across Delaware and parts of South Jersey due to smoke from wildfires in New Jersey's Bass River State Forest and Canada's Nova Scotia province. The air quality in Delaware ranged from moderate to unhealthy, with the most southern county, Sussex County, having an "unhealthy" amount of smoke particles in the air. The Allen Road wildfire in New Jersey grew to 3,100 acres and was 15% contained as of Thursday afternoon. The impacted groups, such as the elderly and people with respiratory issues, should limit strenuous activity and time outdoors until the smoke passes.
