Wildfires in Canada cause poor air quality in US states.

Upstate New York is under an air quality alert for the second day in a row due to smoke from 160 wildfires in Quebec. The alert is for fine particulates that can cause eye and nose irritation and affect the lungs and bloodstream. People with heart or lung conditions should avoid outdoor activities and stay indoors. The haze is also causing hazy skies across the Northeast and blocking some sunlight, keeping temperatures cooler.
