Abortion pill ruling and access in the US

The recent court ruling imposing tougher restrictions on the abortion pill does not apply to 17 states and the District of Columbia, according to Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson. U.S. District Judge Thomas Rice's order preserves access to mifepristone in these states, including mail delivery of the abortion pill, the ability of retail pharmacies to dispense the medication, and the administration of mifepristone up to the 10th week of pregnancy. The U.S. Supreme Court is expected to decide on the future of mifepristone soon. The Biden administration is appealing the 5th Circuit's decision to the Supreme Court to protect Americans' access to safe and effective reproductive care.
