Fentanyl Crisis Continues to Divide California.

Overdoses involving fentanyl were responsible for one in five deaths of people aged 15-24 in California, with deaths related to the synthetic opioid increasing by 1,027% since 2017. The crisis has led to officials scrambling for solutions, with California Governor Gavin Newsom proposing an additional $172m for a project distributing Naloxone, an overdose medication. However, experts warn that more is needed and that the effects of the crisis will probably continue for years to come. San Francisco has been hit particularly hard, with one person dying of an accidental overdose every 10 hours.
