Planned Parenthood to Resume Abortions in Wisconsin Following Court Ruling

Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin will resume offering abortion care services next week after a judge ruled that a state law from 1849, which prohibited the procedure, did not apply. The decision comes after the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, causing uncertainty around the enforceability of the old law. Wisconsin's Democratic Governor, Tony Evers, praised the decision, stating that it would restore reproductive freedom in the state and allow Wisconsinites to access vital reproductive healthcare and abortion services without exception for the first time since June of last year. The lawsuit may still reach Wisconsin's Supreme Court, which now has a Democratic majority.
