Tragic Loss: UGA Student Dies from Brain Tumor Discovered on Spring Break Trip.

University of Georgia senior Liza Burke died after suffering from an aggressive brain tumor that was discovered while she was on spring break in Mexico. Burke had complained of a headache before becoming unresponsive and undergoing emergency surgery to remove part of her skull. Despite seemingly making progress, Burke did not respond to three rounds of radiation and was placed on life support. Her family made the decision to bring her to a home near the beach in Florida to spend her final days, during which they enjoyed family movie nights. Burke lost her younger sister in 2008 to a rare genetic syndrome.
