Nurses across the US vote to authorize strikes in record numbers.

The National Nurses Organizing Committee/National Nurses United announced that 98% of its members authorized a one-day strike at Ascension Seton Medical Center, which would be the first nurses strike in an acute care setting and the largest nurses strike in Texas history. The union cited "unacceptable and delayed" responses to its contract proposals, which aim to improve nurse recruitment and retention for safe staffing levels and the highest level of patient care. The union would provide at least 10 days' notice if a strike occurs.
