"Golden Retrievers Unite to Honor Boston Marathon's Top Dogs"
TL;DR
Hundreds of golden retrievers and their owners gathered in Boston to honor Spencer, a beloved golden retriever who cheered on Boston Marathon runners for years before passing away from cancer. The group held a "Golden Strong" meet-up on the Boston Common, followed by a moment of silence for Spencer, his sister Penny, and all golden families affected by canine cancer. Spencer's owners have raised over $30,000 for canine cancer research and plan to erect a statue of Spencer along the Marathon route in Ashland.
