Montavilla residents voice concerns over alternative homeless shelters in Portland
TL;DR
Montavilla residents expressed concerns about the proposed safe parking site for unhoused Portlanders in their neighborhood, citing issues with safety and cleanliness. Some residents fear that the site could attract drug dealers and increase litter and needles on the streets. The town hall meeting allowed residents to submit questions to Mayor Ted Wheeler about homelessness and safety in Portland.
