Surviving the Flames: Stories of Bravery and Loss in the Lahaina Wildfires

Randy Courtemanche, a resident of Lahaina, Hawaii, fought wildfires for nearly eight hours after being separated from his son during the evacuation. Despite fracturing both of his feet, Courtemanche tirelessly worked to save his apartment complex and neighboring buildings. He expressed gratitude for the support of his community and the "aloha" spirit that encourages helping others in times of trouble. Courtemanche's son eventually found him, and they are now safe and living with friends.
